Founded in 2004 by its Principal Conductor, Maestro Silvano Pasini, the Asti Symphony Orchestra celebrated 20 years of activity in 2024. Over these two decades, the orchestra has performed in prestigious venues both within and beyond regional borders, expanding internationally with tours and performances in France, Spain, Germany, Hungary, and Belarus.
Under the Presidency of Prof. Enrico Bellati, various productions involving the Orchestra have demonstrated its continuous qualitative and artistic growth.
Among the most significant productions are Verdi’s “Requiem” (the first performance ever held in Asti) and a production of “Tosca”—a complex and ambitious project featuring renowned performers such as Maestro Marcello Rota, Stefanna Kybalova, Valter Borin, and Alberto Gazale.
As Symphsonic Orchestra, they recorded PFM In Classic with Premiata Forneria Marconi and embarked on a tour that took them throughout Italy.
Among their most prestigious international collaborations is their participation in the “Ravello Festival 2015” with the concert “Musica da Oscar,” a performance that resulted in the release of a live double CD.
As a testament to its growing international stature, the Orchestra was chosen to stage Verdi’s “Otello,” which toured the French theaters of Cannes, Sète, and Fréjus.
This was followed by a collaboration with Vittorio Grigolo for nationwide performances of the show “Italia… un sogno,” as well as a performance at the gala evening for the presentation of the 2017 Pirelli Calendar in Paris. Directed by Academy Award winner Nicola Piovani and Maestro Marcello Rota, the Orchestra shared the stage with world-renowned icons such as Helen Mirren and Nicole Kidman.
The Orchestra was subsequently chosen by Il Volo for their “Notte Magica” Italian tour, which sold out every date. They also accompanied Maestro Andrea Bocelli in several concerts, including performances in Cap Ferrat, Orvieto, Lacoste, and Al-Ula (Saudi Arabia).
The original production “SYMPHONY OF ROCK,” created in collaboration with the MOS Foundation, also achieved extraordinary success.
In 2024, the orchestra began a collaboration with the Mediterranean Tourist Foundation of Malta, performing as the Mediterranean Orchestra at the 2024 and 2025 Forums. Conducted by Maestro Bruno Santori, the concert was broadcast internationally by RAI International.
During 2025, the Orchestra toured throughout Italy with the concert “Soundtracks,” featuring the narration of Luca Ward. They also staged the show “Sconcerto,” written and performed by Raffaello Tullo. Both productions will continue to tour throughout 2026.
