“Envol”: The world premiere of the new show by one of Europe’s leading contemporary circus companies, the French troupe Les Farfadais.

An interrupted, incomplete construction site. A passionate but somewhat inexperienced researcher is tasked with uncovering a buried mystery… And so, a series of fantastic discoveries unfolds; affinities are created, transforming the site into a dreamlike universe.

Envol is—as the title itself suggests—a show in flight, a suspended adventure, an immersion into an enchanted reality populated by magical creatures, illuminated by mysterious lights, and vibrating with mysterious sounds: a succession of brilliant and… vertiginous inventions, the trademark of Les Farfadais.

After more than 150 sold-out performances across Europe between 2023 and 2024 with their previous show “Éveil,” the brand-new “Envol” makes its absolute European debut in Bardonecchia for the Narrazioni Parallele Festival.

Les Farfadais are one of the most acclaimed performance companies in the world. They are defined as “the creators of the unreal” because, through incredible creative, engineering, and craftsmanship skills, they bring their imagination to life—an imagination rich with references to the natural world, classical mythology, and the great fantasy and adventure cinema.

The company operates from three headquarters (France, Spain, and the USA) and is active across the entire globe. In 2001, the celebrated French fashion designer Pierre Cardin discovered them, marking the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration. Cardin designed and created the costumes for the Les Farfadais production of “Tristan and Isolde,” which was performed worldwide and achieved a remarkable run of 50 shows in Paris alone.

They also stand out for staging grandiose shows in some of the most prominent amusement parks in Europe and beyond: from Mirabilandia to Disneyland Paris, and from Riyadh Season to Bobbejaanland.
