Professor Jaime González, born in Talca (Chile), is internationally recognized today as one of the most versatile and refined oboists of his generation. Trained by masters of the highest prestige—including Hans Elhorst, Thomas Indermühle, and Heinz Holliger—he has built a career that blends technical excellence, artistic sensitivity, and constant research.

As a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player, he has performed with some of Europe’s most prestigious ensembles, including the SWR Symphonieorchester, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, and the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire.
For over seventeen years, from 2000 to 2017, he was a member of the extraordinary ensemble recherche, playing a decisive role in the development and promotion of contemporary music on the international stage.

He has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Alfredo Bernardini, and Felix Renggli. He is also the founder of several chamber music ensembles and is featured in over 30 recordings.
Since 2009, he has served as a professor at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, where he leads a highly successful class and trains new generations of musicians.

In recent years, his artistic journey has been further enriched by an intense dedication to the baroque oboe and historical performance practice, through which he continually expands his expressive universe.
