Mario Romeo began his journey into music at the age of six, choosing the accordion as his instrument for both artistic research and expression. From the very beginning of his training, he distinguished himself on the music scene, winning numerous national and international competitions.

His concert career has taken him to prestigious festivals and concert halls, including the NY Hall of the Royal Academy in Copenhagen, the Salle Arsonic in Mons, Belgium, the “Santa Cecilia” Academic Hall in Rome, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Sferisterio in Macerata, and the Ravello Festival, establishing him as a sensitive and versatile performer.

He collaborates with the Orchestra of the Teatro Massimo “V. Bellini” in Catania, notably participating in the world premiere of the opera “La Capinera” by Gianni Bella.

Alongside his extensive solo career, he maintains a steady commitment to chamber music, performing with various ensembles throughout Italy. Among his most significant collaborations is the “Duo RomAnce” (clarinet and accordion), with whom he recorded a CD for the Da Vinci Publishing label. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Wadi Ensemble, a group dedicated to contemporary music performing on behalf of the Merz Foundation in Turin, with whom he has released two albums of previously unreleased works.

His artistic career has been further enriched through advanced training with world-renowned instructors such as Corrado Rojac, Pavel Feniuk, Vojin Vasovic, Geir Draugsvoll, Owen Murray, Franck Angelis, and Alexander Hrustevich. He has recorded for the Stradivarius label

In 2017, he earned his Academic Diploma in Accordion with the highest honors from the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory in Rome, under the guidance of Maestro Massimiliano Pitocco. He subsequently deepened his focus on chamber music, earning a postgraduate degree with honors in 2022 from the “A. Scarlatti” Conservatory in Palermo.

In 2025, he released his first solo album, SQUARE/’Ntunnu, featuring original and unreleased music for the accordion. This project serves as a synthesis of his ongoing research into tonal quality and interpretive expression.

Alongside his artistic career, he holds the chair of accordion at the I.C.S. “Michelangelo Buonarroti” in Palermo.
