She graduated in harp in 1989 from the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin, having studied in the class of G. B. Berticelli. Maria Elena Bosio continued her advanced studies in the discipline, specializing and earning diplomas from the following institutions:
– Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale di Saluzzo (1992), under the guidance of G. Albisetti.
– Conservatorio Nazionale di Musica e Danza “P. Cochèreau” in Nice (1994), under the guidance of E. Fontan-Binoche.
– Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome (1996), under the guidance of E. Zaniboni.
Additionally, she further refined her technique through masterclasses and studies with U. Holliger, C. Antonelli, F. Pierre, C. Michel, J. Liber, and S. Mildonian.
A winner of numerous national and international music performance competitions, she maintains an extensive concert schedule across Europe, performing as both a soloist and in chamber ensembles. Her repertoire includes the most significant works for harp.
She has performed masterpieces by Mozart, Handel, Debussy, Martin, Ravel, and Henze in various concert seasons, collaborating with and performing under the baton of distinguished conductors and soloists such as Maestro Massimo De Bernart, Maestro Maxence Larrieu, Maestro Donato Renzetti, and Maestro R. Cohen.
She has served as a harp professor at several State Conservatories of Music, including Adria (1993), Reggio Calabria (1994), Novara (1995), Benevento (1999), Palermo (2000), Salerno (2001), Monopoli (2002), Potenza (2003–2010), and Cuneo (2010–2016).
Since 2016, she has held the Chair of Harp at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan.
Having won auditions for the leading Italian orchestras, she has collaborated with the Teatro Regio di Torino, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Teatro Verdi di Pisa, the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has performed under the baton of prestigious conductors, including Lorin Maazel, Daniele Gatti, Georges Prêtre, James Levine, Myung-Whun Chung, Yutaka Sado, Alain Lombard, Lu Jia, and Gianandrea Noseda. Additionally, she has regularly collaborated with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra della Radio Svizzera Italiana (OSI), and the Filarmonica ‘900.
She conducts lectures and masterclasses both in Italy and abroad. She has served as a jury member for numerous competitions and is the author of several books, including:

“Claude Debussy e le Danses: Analisi di un capolavoro della letteratura arpistica”.
She has recorded for RAI and RAISAT, in addition to several CDs, including: “La crava mangia ‘l muri” (published by Stradivarius), “Esotismo in musica” (published by SMC), featuring works by Fauré (Impromptu), Roussel (Impromptu), Debussy (Sonata and Danses), and Ravel (Introduction et Allegro).
